The meeting of the Minister of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis with the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy to the President of Cyprus Ms. Marina Hatzimanolis took place in a very good atmosphere.
During the meeting, the excellent relations between Greece and Cyprus, which are linked to common values and strong ties, were confirmed and in this context it was decided to further strengthen bilateral relations in the field of shipping. In particular, the two sides agreed to cooperate at a technical level on the issues of the Greek registry and maritime spatial planning. Closer cooperation at ministerial level was also decided both in the EU institutions and in the International Maritime Organization.
In the context of closer cooperation, Ms. Hatzimanoli invited the Greek Minister to participate in the "Maritime Cyprus" Maritime Conference next October.
The Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy Mr. Ioannis Pappas was present at the meeting.
