The first two, out of four in total, state-of-the-art patrol vessels, manufactured in Italy, were handed over to the Hellenic Coast Guard.
The said vessels, LS 900 "Marinos Zampatis" and LS 910 "Georgios Kotoulas", which were built in the shipyards “Cantiere Navale Vittoria”, have a total length of 36,3 meters and a speed of over 35 knots. In parallel, their range exceeds 1.000 nautical miles.
The first two vessels, which were delivered to the Coast Guard in order to undergo the necessary trials, are of the latest technology. Their official acceptance and integration to the fleet is expected around the end of January.
The 3rd patrol vessel is expected to be delivered by the end of May and the 4th by the end of November 2021.
It is worth mentioning that the procurement of the above vessels is co-financed at a rate of 90% by the Internal Security Fund of the European Union and by 10% from national resources.
